About Us

             Multi-disciplinary curriculum. Multi-ethnic perspective. Multi-able supports.

Early childhood building blocks:

  • Literacy: Students learn phonological awareness and foundations to become strong readers, writers, listeners, and speakers.

  • Math: Students develop a conceptual understanding of numbers to make sense of problems, recognize patterns, and develop perseverance.

  • Critical reasoning: Students develop data-based arguments built with a sense of purpose, learning how to listen to and persuade their peers.

  • Social and emotional wellness:

    • Students learn to identify, share, and manage their full range of feelings through tools such as RULER’s “mood

meter”. Students learn to practice healthy personal and social habits through The Leader in Me.

  • Urban Food Production: Students apply scientific systems to grow, cook, and eat healthy, fresh food through our hydroponics classroom and full kitchen.

  • Physical education: Health is valued strongly using “move to improve” activities throughout the day and classes with

   our full-time physical educator.

  • Studio Art/Makerspace: Blending science and design, students explore the creative processes of artists, designers, and engineers.

  • Excel at all levels: Through intentional supports, every student is challenged to learn and excel with no limits.

Extracurricular and After School Programs:

  • Performing Arts: Students participate in Dance, Readers Theater, and Broadway Junior, performing in a variety of school festivals and shows.

  • Free After School from 2:20 pm - 5:20 pm: Through our partnership with Grand St. Settlement and COMPASS

(Comprehensive After School System), students engage in a range of activities:

  • Homework help and mentoring: Includes K-1 Ready Readers program with “read alouds” and related reading development activities.

  •  STEAM projects: students undertake engineering and design challenges based on curriculum from the Museum of Science in Boston, Tech Bridge, and Grand Street.
